The Case of the Golden Idol Soundtrack is out 🔥 🔥

October 13th, 2022.. what a day! 🍂🍂🍂 I was living in the very heart of Lviv at the time, an extremely inspiring city for creativity. The release of this game has been highly anticipated, and I remember the winter, spring and summer days of working on the soundtrack ❄️🍃☀️🥰

Looking back at it - it has definitely been one of the most memorable and career-defining projects I’ve ever worked on.

It has also been one of the best distractions I’ve had from all the events happening in Ukraine at the time. As some may remember, February '22 is where things started to get rough, and it also coincided with beginning the work on the project. Once more looking back at it - perhaps it's precisely these events that influenced this soundtrack, shaping it into how it turned out (as personal life events can often influence artist's creativity).

I remember the auditioning process really well, as we started chatting with ColorGray about a potential collaboration back in the autumn of 2021, as well as remember that none of us had any idea how successful this game would become.

So grateful to have contributed to this series with my musical vision and having received so many incredible and inspiring comments over the past 2 years from players, is extremely humbling, especially for a starting-out composer.

A pleasure to be able to share this work with you today - precisely 2 years later, that brings so many cool memories with it. I think it is also a great reason to celebrate indie games in general as The Case of the Golden Idol is direct proof - that sincerely inspired projects can be heard, appreciated and make it happen for themselves ❤️‍🔥

At last - Edge of Sanity is here 🔥🔥 Shipped last Friday the 13th 🔥

And what a path to make this collaboration come true 🤯

I've learned about the project after visiting Gamescom last year and resonated with its Cthulhu inspired/ psychologically dark and intriguing atmosphere... I've went onto some research and discovered that it was developed by Vixa Games - a fellow Slavic game company based in Gdansk ♥️ 🇵🇱 (Always interesting working with people from Eastern & Central Europe/Baltic & Balkan countries as a lot of us grew up playing the same video games in the 90s/2000s hence we sometimes share very similar inspirations)

I reached out to Vixa to potentially work on the music for the game, but learned that audio was already being taken care of and moved onto my journey of working as a composer, endlessly surfing the web xD

Several weeks passed by, and I was advised by a friend of mine to reach out to another gaming studio. After talking with their audio team - I discovered they are actually open to work together on a project and imagine my sincere surprise when they were talking about collaborating on Edge of Sanity! 🤯

Coincidence or destiny or luck - I'm truly happy to have contributed to this game with 3 dark backing tracks... hope you feel them accompanying the gameplay well and feel as immersed in this soundtrack as I did while working on it 🖤🖤

Thank you Ivory Tower Soundworks for a great opportunity and collaboration and to Vixa Games for shipping a really haunting & made with a lot of hard work title!

Cheers to many more cool releases 👏👏

Ever since moving to the UK at the beginning of spring there has been many life changes and an absolute overload of events.. I'll actually try to record a podcast later on to update a bit about what's been happening all this time, but in the meantime - super happy to share a new track I composed for GRAB that was used for the game's launch yesterday on August 8th!

As well as some pictures taken over the summer of the city :)
